White River Travel Management

To all White River Forest trail riders: Now is the time to get involved in keeping your trails open.

The White River Forest Travel Management Plan is currently being updated to accommodate the recent national travel rule.

The revised TMP will be released late spring 2006 at which time the comment period will commence. The new WRF Supervisor is Mary Beth Gustafson and she seems to be far more reasonable than her PC predecessor (Martha Ketelle). The WRF TMP manager (Wendy Haskins) seems receptive and fair minded as well.

A few hours of your time could help keep some trails open for at least the next 15 years. Please read e-mail from Don Riggle below and pass along any pertinent information that may assist Don in his negotiations with the local USFS folks. Don is working his butt off to keep our trails open. Do whatever you can to lend him a hand. You can also contact Wendy or Mary Beth directly to voice your support of sustainable OHV access. Wendy and Mary Beth are very accessible and they want to hear from you on the issue of OHV access.
